Trauma results from abuse, neglect, crimes, natural disasters, even tragedies that we witness. Therapy can help.
If you experienced trauma as a child, adolescent or adult, or perhaps throughout life, and you continue to suffer, please consider reaching out to Chrones Counseling. Trauma is something we specialize in at Chrones Counseling. Deanna Chrones even created a therapy to treatment to trauma, a therapy known as RELEASE. Many people continue to suffer for years, even decades, from abuse or neglect committed against them in childhood by a caregiver or someone else in their life.
Trauma lives in the physical body, not just your mind. Your body remembers trauma, and that trauma impacts how your body goes through life.
Usually, that way of going through life is a state of hypervigilance, where you are always ready to try and protect yourself against something bad happening, even when you are completely safe. This is because traumatized people continuously receive “vigilance” signals from the body, where the trauma continues to live.
In fact, 90% of the continuous communication between body and brain is upward, from the body to the brain. And the brain’s internal communication also works in an upward direction, from the area that communicates with the body (the brainstem) to the area that controls emotions (the limbic system) to the area that controls thoughts (the prefrontal cortex). It is crucial your therapist knows this neurobiology of body and brain to effectively help you with trauma. This is our area of specialization at Chrones Counseling.
Your body is trying to tell you something, and the symptoms you have are a message.
Chrones Counseling has a research-driven approach to trauma therapy.
Because of the “upward” communication we described above, with thoughts occurring last, at Chrones Counseling we use therapy that begins with body sensations and emotions, though we also focus on thoughts as well.
As we say, with trauma, your body is trying to tell you something, and the symptoms you have are the message. At Chrones Counseling, we listen, to you and to your symptoms.
We provide trauma therapy that yields fast results, within your therapy sessions. And we teach you therapy techniques you can use at home to help minimize your anxiety, PTSD and complex-PTSD while you “process” the trauma.
We use EMDR, hypnosis (now called NSDR, or Non-Sleep Deep Rest), and RELEASE™ Therapy, as well as talk therapy, to treat trauma. If you’re searching for a therapist rooted in both empathy and research, please know Chrones Counseling is as close as your digital device. Chrones Counseling offers therapy for trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD and more, through online therapy, also known as distance therapy, virtual therapy, remote therapy, video therapy and Telehealth therapy.
